– With thanks to Clement Clarke Moore
‘Twas the day after Christmas & all through the house
Drifts of paper were piled – North, West, and South
Papers and texts, not all of it wrapping
Most was the mail and left-over packing
The cats were all snuggled, secure in their nests
Confident that no one dare disturb their rest
I contemplated the damage and assorted debris
I supposed I should clean but who was to see?
The neighbors were inside, the friends had gone home
Except for the cats, I was all alone
The papers were graded, the book was released
The year’s work wrapped up, all tidy and neat
I stood at a lost, every item checked off
But for cleaning and dusting – the thought made me cough!
When, what to my wondering eyes should appear,
A shiny new pile of TBR’s, authors new and dear!
There were Sci-Fi and Romance and Mysteries all
Both escapism and adventure, inspiration big and small!
I ran to the kitchen for just one more cup
Time to settle in and read with both feet propped up!
For a fun, fantastic read – try Fighting Mad, my latest leprechuan love story!
The conflict between the Queen of the Fairies from Feeling Lucky and the King from Restless Spirits is heating up. Carla may be torn between Murphy’s broad shoulders and his infamous fighting skills, but when civil war breaks out, she knows who she wants on her side!
