Time seems to pass quicker every year and it’s hard to believe we are already almost a week into 2016. If you haven’t yet made a resolution, here’s one – harness the power of your mind. Be positive, think positive, and nix any negative thoughts.
Wikipedia’s definition of The Law of Attraction: ‘The law of attraction is the name given to the maxim “like attracts like” which in New Thought philosophy is used to sum up the idea that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts a person brings positive or negative experiences into their life. This belief is based upon the idea that people and their thoughts are both made from “pure energy”, and the belief that like energy attracts like energy.’
The ramifications of this are way too complex to discuss here, but it is a fact that we tend to dwell on negative thoughts more than we should, and most of us devote far too little time to positive thoughts. Here’s an example:
You total your car, but you miraculously escape with only a few bruises. The problem is, one month and one day previously, you finally paid the car off, and decided to save $100 a month and switch from fully comprehensive insurance to liability insurance only. So now, you are left with no insurance payout, no car, and you certainly don’t have enough money to buy another.
You say a quick prayer of thanks that you came out of the crash unscathed.
You are mad at yourself and spend hours berating yourself for making what has turned out to be a majorly bad decision. You put so much more thought and energy into the negative thoughts than you do into the positive thoughts. This attracts more bad stuff to you, and a few days later your refrigerator stops running.
You call a technician, and he says the motor is burned out, and it will cost less to replace the entire refrigerator than to repair it. That’s when you remember you allowed your home warranty policy to lapse two months ago to save yourself $80 a month.
Now you’re doubly mad at yourself, and you start thinking about the water heater. And of course, it goes out. You get the picture.
So be thankful you have been given the gift of creativity, and write, write and write some more and think positive. Be aware of your thoughts and make a concerted effort to catch the negativity and change it to positive energy. You have the power to make 2016 the your most successful year yet, and I’m sending positive thoughts to all of you.
