Good morning Soulies. Right now it’s like 43° in NW ARKANSAS but I’m already dreaming of a vacation.
Not just for myself (hmmm, now there’s a thought. A personal vacation…) No, no, no. It’s a family one.
My family and I have never been on a vacation before. Not a real one anyway. A weekend at OKC doesn’t exactly qualify as a vacation in my book. That’s the furthest we’ve ever gone.
No, I’m talking about a REAL vacation.
Now the challenges with planning a vacation include an affordable price and finding something fun for everyone-making everyone happy…
I’ve spent many, many, many hours on my laptop scouring various places that I think my family would enjoy visiting. After much deliberation, I settled on Texas.
There are beaches, zoos, museums, water parks, a vast amount of history, and interesting sights.
But Texas is HUGE!!
There are so many places to choose from. How could I ever decide?
It took a lot of thought and money figuring but San Antonio seemed like the perfect choice.
Step 1 done!
Step 2: What to do and how to afford it? I mean, there are 5 of us…
Search, search, search.
Hours and days went by, my eyes starting to crossand my brain beginning to melt from looking at so many sites, activities, and pop up ads that always show up when you don’t want them to.
I was even able to come up with something fun for everyone to do.
- San Antonio City Tour (hop on, hop off bus)
- Splashtown Water park
- San Antonio Zoo
- K1 Kart Racing
And all for less than $600!
Of course now I had to find a great hotel.
It needed to have a full kitchen-stovetop, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, etc. (I figured making our own food would save us some major 💵 💵.)
And an indoor pool is a necessity. My kids LOVE swimming. What better (and safer) way to do that than indoors? Can you say all night swimming? ☺ 🏊
Internet here I come again…
More blurry eyes, groaning over prices, and banging my head against the wall (not literally of course-Ouch!)
But I think I found one. It’s around $600 but it’s for 5 days, 4 nights, and has everything we need.
So we have a hotel and lots of exciting things to do. All we have to do now is wait until June.
Oh, that’s so hard to do.
But that gives me and the hubby time to save up for gas and food and those little extras of course. Extras like souviners. It’s a vacation after all-you have to have things to bring back.
I hope everything works out like I plan but of course nothing is perfect. But still, I can’t wait and neither can my family for our 1st ever family vacation!
SIMMER FUN HERE WE COME!! (In a few months…)
Thanks for stopping by. I would love to hear about tour vacations and how they turned out.
