Book Promotion!

book-2869_1280

Sometimes I feel as though my books are all floating in this gigantic ocean of books out there, impossible for anyone to find unless I actually pluck one out and stick it under their nose. I’m sure all my fellow Soulies feel the same way, but what’s the best way to do that? Facebook has become a circus, Twitter isn’t much better, and I never have been able to figure out how to make Instagram or Pinterest work for promoting my books. Sure, there are dozens of “services” you can pay for to blast out tweets or email their “thousands of avid readers” to get book sales. But what really works?

If you find out, let me know.

In the meantime, I thought I would share a list of book promotion sites that I received from a website called Author Support. Here’s the list, and here’s what I discovered:

1) Best Reads (Free and Paid)  https://bestreads. app/
2) WordLikes: https://wordlikes. com – is a site that generates interest for books not only through their email list of over 410,000 subscribers but also through a huge network of blogs.
3) Bmi Books: https://bmibooks.com Starting from $10 onetime fee
4) Writers Support https://writers. support
5) WriteGlobe: https:// writeglobe.com
6) Creative Designers Writers(Free): https:// creativedesignerswriters.com/
7) OltoApp: https://olto.app (Free and Paid)
8) BooksWi-Fi: https://bookswifi. com/
9) Olto Books:
https://oltobooks.com/  – Post your books trailer
Promote your book free through Facebook Marketing group:  https://www.facebook. com/groups/397363764432989/
Although all of these sites look different, they have suspiciously similar platforms and pricing – all except the first one wants $10-55 for you to list your book – complete with Amazon buy link – on their site. I believe they are all probably owned by the same company. Number 6 came up as a broken link, and Olto Books looks like a Facebook-esk social media specializing in authors.
But that’s the thing: they target authors. Sure, authors read too, but I want to get my books in front of avid readers, not just other authors.
Of course, I listed one of mine on Best Reads – it was free, and we’ll see if I notice an increase in sales. In the meantime, I guess I’ll just hang onto my life vest in this ocean of books and see where the tides take me . . .

You are so right about our books being seemingly lost at sea, dumped in a vast ravine, or possibly mired in a sinkhole. The market is OVERSATUATED. With the popularity of self-publishing, there are millions of books vying for readers’ attention. I have author friends who rapid release books every two or three months. I could never do that. (I suppose I could if I were in a cell and wrote 24/7), but thankfully, I’m not.

Thanks for the links, but I, too, am suspicious of many of these so-called services. I often wonder if it’s some savvy author or reader who figured this was the way to make big bucks since authors are desperate.

Who knows? We have to try some sites, otherwise, our books remain in the abyss. Good luck, fellow Soulie. Let’s hold hands and chant or something! 😉

I’m up for holding hands and chatting. Sounds like the Way to go.
With Irish magic I had several reviews free through Bookssprout. Several paid through hidden gems and at least three from Xpresso book tours
Is this going to help? I have no idea. The art of the arcane runs promos and they are free. But you need a paranormal book, and at least some part of it has to be free.
