Heavy rain, light cards…

I should be editing. I should be on Canva completing homework for a class I’m taking from Laurie Cooper on finding readers. The brain needed a break, so I invited a friend over and we began making holiday cards. Coloring little critters, choosing background paper, and snowy glitter provided a needed reprieve. In the next session, we’ll place a couple of deer and a tree on the front of the card and a greeting inside. We get an assembly line going and knock out six or seven apiece.

The slidey card took brain power and time. The bunny, when tilted, will flip over if the card is tilted. I’ve gotten persnickety about who will receive homemade cards versus who gets the store bought ones. The folks who make it a point to thank me stay on the list. I know, that’s judgmental, but I do write a short note to everyone. My goal this year is not to be sending out cards on December 24th, as I’ve done in the past. I may have started early enough to succeed! How are your plans going? Oh, and I’m very excited to have my first audio book completed by narrator Justine Eyre in early December… Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! Hope you get a bit of reading time.

Those cards are adorable. And what a great way to take a break. I am trying to learn to use procreate with an Apple Pencil. And I’m going to learn to draw. Happy Thanksgiving.

Thank you, Sue. I have an artist friend who loves her Apple Pencil. I did color the critters with alcohol ink pens. I helped teach art for nine years, so learned a lot from a free ‘parents’ program and the art teacher. Post your progress, I bet you will do great. And may your turkey and your holiday memories be tender!

This year has been insane! I’m also looking for stress busters! The librarian at the school where I teach places puzzles in the library. Staff and students work them over the course of weeks–a great stress buster! This school year has been crazy. It’s hard to concentrate on the season, but I’m trying!
