Meet Collette Cameron!

Award winning, best-selling author, Collette Cameron, has a BS in Liberal Studies and a Master’s in Teaching. Author of the Castle Brides Series and Highland Heather Romancing a Scot Series, Collette writes Regency and Scottish historicals and makes her home in the Pacific Northwest with her husband and five mini-dachshunds. Mother to three and a self-proclaimed Cadbury Chocolate chocoholic, Collette loves a good joke, inspirational quotes, flowers, trivia, and all things shabby chic. You’ll always find dogs, birds, quirky—sometimes naughty—humor, and a dash of inspiration in her novels.

Her motto for life? You can’t have too much chocolate, too many hugs, or too many
flowers.

She’s thinking about adding shoes to that list.

Collette’s a member of RWA, The Beau Monde, Hearts Through History, Celtic Hearts, Faith, Hope and Love, Inc., GSRW, and Rose City Romance Writers.

  1. A great intro, Collette! Your home sounds amazing!

  2. Thanks for the introduction. I look forward to reading your work.

  3. Congrats Collette! Five dogs? I love doxi’s but that’s extreme!

    • I do love my doxi’s.

I’m down to four. I lost my beloved Kiki October 11th after feeding her a Waggin Train wrapple. I didn’t know about the company’s history with dog treats and that over 900 dogs have died, plus thousands more sickened as a result of the toxic chicken jerky from China used in the dog treats.

When my heart heals, I’ll get another dachshund.

    Colette,

I hope you write a book or two set in your home area–it sounds beautiful!

Sounds like you’ve found a wonderful publishing home at Soulmate, and can’t wait to see your books hit the web and the bookshelves.

    Congrats,
    Cathryn Cade

  6. How exciting to have found a home for your story. Congratulations, Collette!

  7. Colette, I love this bio. You sound like the best friend every woman wants/needs, with such varied interests and a positive outlook on life. I’m sure that will also be reflected in your books. I can’t wait to start reading them. Do keep us posted when they are available.

A whole acre for 5 mini doxies? Sounds like an adventure right there 🙂

  9. Collette,
I love your lists of favorite things and the Pacific Northwest seems to be the right place for you. It’s great to hear about and support local authors. Good luck with your books and I look forwarding to hearing of your future successes!

  10. Hi, Collette! Gotta agree with Cathryn–I love the Pacific Northwest, your Victorian home and grounds sound wonderful! Nice to find out a bit more about you!

    • Genie,
I think those of us who are Pacific Northwest natives, especially those from the coast, are more than a bit biased about living here. As for my yard, the older I get, the more I think I need to scale back. But where? I love it all!

  11. Janet says:

Loving all of this for you sweetie! So excited for all that the future holds. It’s such an honor to be your auntie and be allowed to feel so proud of “my girl!” Hugs and love to you and God’s blessings on everything your put your hands to do. xoxoxoxo ❤

  12. Thank you! I’m amazed and blessed at the outpouring of support and encouragement!

  14. Gloria says:

Hi Collette,, Looking forward to your book. How do you decide on what time era you want to write about?

  15. I’ve always loved reading about the Regency era, so it seemed a natural segue to begin my writing journey there.

I thought I knew quite a bit about that time in history, until I had to start researching facts for HIGHLANDER’S HOPE. Thank goodness for The Beau Monde, a chapter of Romance Writers of America. They’ve been an invaluable source of information.

  16. Gloria says:

Have you ever had writer’s block? How do you overcome that if you do?

  17. Janet says:

Very well done! I loved the interview.
