Incident on the Caledonia Mud Pike, by Jane Lawhun

In January, 1888 there was a terrible blizzard that swept out of Canada, across the plains and into Ohio. Isabella Kline finds herself stranded at a tavern on the Caledonia Mud Pike where she meets Cree O’Brien, a handsome mountain man who helps her survive, and in his strength, Isabella hopes to find true love.

But she is afraid Cree will discover her devastating secret, that she is pregnant, and he will reject her. She must also rely on her faith in God to see her through this trying time and, later, through an abduction by a man who haunts her nightmares and who could ultimately kill her.
