Janeen Swart taught third grade for twenty-five years in a small farming community in northwest Indiana. After she and her husband became empty nesters and both retired, Janeen turned her attention to her dream of becoming an author. She began by taking a writing course at Indiana University Northwest and also completed two online writing courses with The Institute of Children’s Literature. Her first emphasis became children’s books to share with her six young grandchildren. Her first book, A DOG AND HIS BOY, was published by Lighthouse Christian Publishing. She has also self-published five other children’s books using Create Space.com. All of Janeen’s books can be purchased on Amazon.com.
While working with an online critique group through The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrator’s, Janeen wrote her young adult romance novel soon to be published. The critique group helped to improve her writing during the process and she owes them many thanks.
Janeen loves attending her grandchildren’s many activities, caring for her flower gardens, and spending time with her husband and her cat, Dusty.
