Guin Stevens and two friends book a weeklong canoe trip into the wilderness of northeast Minnesota. During the trip she falls in love with Rick Hanover, the owner of the resort and their guide. She comes to realize he has feelings for her too, but he is a successful businessman, and anything to do with returning to city life is the farthest thing from his mind.
Guin knows this is a hopeless situation. City mouse, country mouse. Here? Or There? She loves the city and doesn’t want to leave; he loves the country and doesn’t want to leave.
